Keeping clients' operations running smoothly is a challenge for many of the companies that provide print outsourcing services.

Connection monitoring

What is a PrintWayy connection?

A PrintWayy connection, also known by the old term "Installation Point", is a computer where the PrintWayy Client Server is installed, and centralises the monitoring of the printers in the clients environment.

An uncommunicating PrintWayy Client server, or even printers not communicating with the client, can result in a number of failures

Common problems

Billing losses

Services and printers not communicating correctly with the PrintWayy Portal can result in lost revenue, because when printers or the PrintWayy Client Server stop communicating correctly, your business stops getting meters, and consequently stops charging for downtime production until services are re-established.

Need for many remote accesses

For a good analysis to be made, sometimes it is essential that a remote access is made to the environment of your customers to make some verification and consecutive taking of actions. Sometimes, customers may be afraid and find the practice repetitive and unsafe.

Outdated data

A PrintWayy Client or any of its compromised printers will cause a number of data inconsistencies, such as printers with no counters and no supply level readings. The lack of this data will cause slowdowns, inconsistencies in individual printer data, report data, dashboards and closures.

Monitoring PrintWayy connections

To monitor your PrintWayy connections, go to the menu Management > Connection monitoringmenu, as shown in the gif below.

In this grid, you will have a complete overview of the number of existing connections in your clients, and you will be able to check how many connections are functional or not in each client, in a very simple way.

To open the connections of a certain client, double-click, or on the button at the end of each line which you want to query to open the connection details of the client, as per the gif below.

In this screen all the connections of all the clients will be shown, and it is possible to verify which are functional or not, with faults or partially functional, also showing the details of the computer where the PrintWayy Client Server is installed.

Failed connections will be marked with red borders, and will always be shown first, so that you can start your analysis from there.

You can filter the displayed connections by functional connections only, faulty connections only, partially functional connections only or display them all.

Clicking on a connection will expand itshowing the details of the computer where it is installed, the last communication from the PrintWayy Client server to the PrintWayy Portal, total number of printers and the operational status of the connection.

Understanding statuses

Every status has a meaning, and therefore must be observed carefully to ensure that your press parks are always functional.

For each connection we have three statuses, two secondary and one primary. The secondary statuses will determine the primary status.
